meerkats 2027 wall calendar

The small, sand-colored mob members from the Kalahari and the Namib spend twelve pages striking the upright sentry pose that has made them television-show stars in Meerkats 2027 Wall Calendar. Meerkats live in tight family groups of fifteen to thirty, take turns standing watch on termite mounds, and have dark patches around their eyes that work like built-in sunglasses against the desert glare. They are members of the mongoose family rather than the rodent family, despite the body shape, and they hunt scorpions with a kind of practiced caution that suggests generations of careful training. Photographers tend to catch them in their best poses - huddled pups, standing sentinels, dust baths, and the upright vigilance that defines the species.
